Well, another week has come and gone! I can't believe school will be out in a few weeks! Jagger has already been planning the summer. I am trying to enjoy this moment and not focus too much on what is to come because I know I will blink and he will be starting school! I have always been so bad about thinking about the future instead of truly living in that moment!
I love Monday's because I get to link up with Emily @ Ember Grey and that gets my brain focused on what I am grateful for!
I am always grateful for the obvious things: kids, husband, house, health, etc. but I have really been trying to find things that are not right in my face! This morning the thing that is on my heart is forgiveness! Oh, how I am ever so grateful for forgiveness! I can honestly say that I have struggled several times in life with forgiveness and even this morning in prayer I asked God to reveal to me anyone that I have harbored unforgiveness towards. I don't think we understand how important forgiveness is, not just in receiving but giving. What would the world be like without forgiveness? What would it be like if our Heavenly Father did not forgive us? I think about the times that I have wronged someone and how I feel if they don't forgive. It breaks my heart and makes me very sad. I love what my kids teach me about forgiveness. They forgive so easy! I love how they never keep things stored up inside for days and days. They move on and love me just as much!
I am grateful that I am forgiven. I am grateful that I can forgive. I am grateful that we don't have to live with unforgiveness!
"For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Matthew 6:14-15
"Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, " I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times." Matthew 18: 21-22
When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven." Luke 5:20
....Forgive and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:34
Hope everyone has a blessed day!
Lot of love...

such a powerful thing to be grateful for! It is amazing what forgiveness does to you. It is like drinking your own poison. It is a a horrible way to live yet sometimes it is really really hard to forgive!
ReplyDeletegirl you are so right! I have dealt with unforgiveness and didn't even realize it! It is a very hard thing to handle! Thank goodness we can overcome it!
DeleteThe most powerful gift we have is forgiveness. Girl, I wrote about the day I forgave the biggest source of pain in my life (back in January). It can be so hard to accept that you are going to move on from the pain by offering forgiveness but life is short so not giving it is a travesty. xoxox Amanda
ReplyDeleteYou are so right - kids really do forgive so easily! Thanks for sharing your heart, Megan, and also for including those verses.
