Grateful Heart: Senses!

Wooohooo!! It's Monday and I think the winter weather is FINALLY over!!! I am so pumped! I can't wait to see flowers, green grass, and sandals! ;)
I am linking up with Emily at Ember Grey to share what I am grateful for!!
Last night I was laying in bed thinking about what I was going to be "grateful" for today. I rattled off several things and nothing really was sitting right with me. I finally decided to pray and let God lead me in this! About 30 minutes later, senses came into my mind! I started thinking about the senses...sight, smell, hear, taste, and touch! Oh what wonderful things that I completely take for granted everyday!!

Sight: I am blessed to wake up everyday and see all of God's beautiful creation. The first time I laid eyes on my babies when they were born. Beautiful. Flowers blooming in the summer. Beautiful. Watching a babies first step. Beautiful.  Standing on the beach in the morning before the sun comes up. Beautiful. Dolphins jumping in the water. Beautiful. The mountains. Beautiful.   Orange trees in the fall. Beautiful.    So many wonderful things that I get to SEE.

Smell: The smell of Thanksgiving!! Pumpkin pie, turkey and dressing, homemade rolls.   The smell of coffee.  The smell of popcorn.  The smell of your grandma's house when you walk in. The smell of the hub's shirt when you are fixing to put it in the washing machine. The smell of babies. The list goes on and on!

Hear: Hearing your baby say mama for the first time!!! Nothing in the world like it!   Hearing the words, I love you.   Hearing laughter. Hearing the birds chirp. Hearing cars driving by. Hearing the clock tick, tick, tick....

Taste:  Seeing that I love FOOD this is a biggie for me....I LOVE to taste food...Mexican, Taco Bell, Italian, American, dessert, junk food, fruit, veggies, coffee, Diet Dr. Pepper, water, and everything in between!! I love the taste of different foods...all the different flavors..

Touch: Holding hands with the one you love.    When Hudson was in the hospital for the first couple of weeks all I could do was touch his arm or hand. It was the best "touch" ever!  Getting to touch all the different things when you go shopping. I love to walk in a store and just touch! Silk: smooth.  Cotton: soft   Burlap: rough  Wool: itchy

I can't imagine a world without senses. It would be beyond boring. I feel so blessed that I can enjoy every one of these because I know there are people out there who don't get to. I am oh so grateful that God has given us each of these so that we can enjoy his beautiful creation!!
Hope everyone has a blessed day!
Lots of love..

  1. The five senses are wonderful, I love how a scent can help you recall a certain time or place, or the beauty of a warm hug, or hearing someone you care about say your name, the taste of all the flavor in food is a wonderful thing. There is a lot to be grateful for from those five senses, it does add to life in different ways. I am grateful for it too especially because it is something everyone may not experience but I get to and can share it through my words like you have.
