What's Up Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday!!! I am excited to link up with MelShaeffer, and Shay for What's Up Wednesday!!

*What We Are Eating:   Well this time of year we are the ball fields almost every night, so are meals are super duper easy!!! I am literally throwing things together. Some nights Matthew and I just eat a bowl of cereal. Here is what my boys have been eating this week.

I will add in some mashed potatoes, mac and cheese or some type of side and we are good to go!!!

*What I Am Reminiscing About: DISNEY WORLD!!! I have Disney Fever right now. Yesterday I spent several hours trying to figure out a way for us to go this year.

* What I Am Loving: The Longer Days!!  It has been so nice to be outside. My boys are loving getting to play outside almost every night!

*What We Have Been Up To: If we are not at the ball field, you can find us outside in our backyard. Also, Jagger talked his Bennie into a Halloween makeup kit, so the last two nights he has wanted  me to practice....

Gross huh??? Boys love the craziest things...and we have totally scared the Grandmas with this stuff!

*What I Am Dreading: Mosquitoes!!! The mosquitoes in a few weeks will be so bad we won't be able to enjoy being outside. It is my least favorite thing about summer! :(

*What I Am Working On: cleaning out closets! I am trying to go through all the boys clothes and get rid of everything that does not fit. It is a process because Jagger hates trying on clothes!

*What I Am Excited About: Vacations this summer! We have one big vacation planned and then two smaller ones! I am super excited about getting away!

*What I Am Watching/Reading: I am reading American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin.

I haven't watched any shows this week but we did buy the movie Paddington! It is precious. We also managed to watch Taken 3. Very good, but not near as good as the first!

*What I Am Listening To: KLove/ Joyce Meyer Podcasts/ Annie Soundtrack

*What I Am Wearing: Believe me, I have been beyond super boring in this department. Ever since I got sick two weeks ago I feel off the cute clothes band wagon. I have been living in pjs and yoga pants! I am hoping to get back to my old self soon!!

*What I Am Doing This Weekend: We are going to hang out with some good friends, and possibly do some fishing!

*What I Am Looking Forward To Next Month: No schedules/No school! I am looking forward to lazy mornings and just relaxing with both boys!!

*What Else Is New: I am going to try and go back to school. This is kind of a biggie for me because I have wanted to but it just hasn't worked out! I have all the paper work on my desk just need to get it done. When Matthew and I got married, I was in the middle of my bachelors degree, so I am hoping to finish it up!

Hope everyone has a blessed day!
Lots of love..

Being A Preemie Mom!

Preemie...a word I never thought would be part of my life! This word honestly never even crossed my mind until I was in the hospital at 26 weeks. I had no clue the world that comes along with a preemie!
Last night I was getting Hudson to sleep and my mind was flooded with memories over the last 2 years. To say that it has been an adventure is almost an understatement. It has been an experience. It has been life changing.

God has always needed Hudson here and I truly believe he has a divine purpose. I know all babies are miracles but I am blown away with Hudson's story. Even before he was born, Hudson was ready to be here. I was not suppose to get pregnant for 6 months to a year is what the doctor told us. 2 weeks later I was pregnant!!! Yes, we were shocked! At 26 weeks, Hudson was ready to see the world. The doctors managed to keep him in for a week and finally at 27 weeks and 2lbs, he made his debut!  I have never felt so many emotions at one time. Terrified, happy, sad, mad, anxious, and so many others. I had never seen a 2lb baby. What would he look like? Would he be like a normal baby? The doctors were so awesome about preparing us. I only got to see him for about 20 seconds before they rushed him off with his team of doctors, but he was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. So tiny and sweet. He fit in the palm of the doctors hand. For 1 minute the world stopped and all I could do was thank God for this sweet baby.

The next 5 months were spent with many tears in a hospital counting down the days until we became an official family of 4. There were many days I had no clue what God had in store for Hudson. Was his time here complete? Was Jagger going to be an only child? Father, why are we going through this? So many questions all the time raging through my mind!
Hudson showed us he is a fighter. He proved time and time again that he was meant to be here with us. He flat lined and coded several times on us, and I can hands down say that is the worst thing I have ever experienced in my life. To see your baby laying there with doctors and nurses yelling and trying to get your lifeless baby back is horrible. I have never felt so helpless.. All I knew to do was turn to God. He was and is in control, whether we like it or not.

As a "preemie" mom my faith has been strengthened. All we had at times was God and prayer. At one time the doctor told us Hudson would have to have heart surgery. He said the only way he would not have surgery would be a miracle from my God. (All the doctors and nurses knew we were very open about our faith) I told him that my God still did miracles. I am pretty sure everyone we knew and more was praying about Hudson. Exactly a week later, that same doctor came in Hudson's room and told me that my God was good! Hudson would not need surgery. The heart was healing on it's own. All I could do was cry! I knew God had us in the palm of his hand!

As a "preemie" mom I have had to learn patience. I have never been one with great patience, but with preemies you need patience. They do things when they are ready and it is not always in the timing that we want! 5 months in a hospital will teach you patience. Even know Hudson does things when he ready. There is no rushing him. We tried potty training...nope not ready, so I just decided to have patience and know that it will happen!

As a "preemie" mom I have learned I am not in control, God is. I have the personality that likes control. On December 18, 2012 in the hospital I had to surrender control to our Heavenly Father. He was in control of Hudson. He was in control of my life. He was in control of our Christmas that year. He was in control of Jagger and Matthew. It has totally taught me to let go of the reins and let him guide us! It is scary at first but oh the peace you feel when you finally let go!

The last 2 years have been hard, but I wouldn't change it for the world. We are beyond blessed to have the sweetest, strong willed preemie ever! He is a miracle and we thank God for the joy he brings our family every day!  We love you Hudson Lynn.

Hope everyone has a blessed day!
Lots of love..

Well, another week has come and gone! I can't believe school will be out in a few weeks! Jagger has already been planning the summer. I am trying to enjoy this moment and not focus too much on what is to come because I know I will blink and he will be starting school! I have always been so bad about thinking about the future instead of truly living in that moment!

I love Monday's because I get to link up with Emily @ Ember Grey and that gets my brain focused on what I am grateful for!

I am always grateful for the obvious things: kids, husband, house, health, etc. but I have really been trying to find things that are not right in my face! This morning the thing that is on my heart is forgiveness! Oh, how I am ever so grateful for forgiveness! I can honestly say that I have struggled several times in life with forgiveness and even this morning in prayer I asked God to reveal to me anyone that I have harbored unforgiveness towards. I don't think we understand how important forgiveness is, not just in receiving but giving. What would the world be like without forgiveness? What would it be like if our Heavenly Father did not forgive us? I think about the times that I have wronged someone and how I feel if they don't forgive. It breaks my heart and makes me very sad. I love what my kids teach me about forgiveness. They forgive so easy! I love how they never keep things stored up inside for days and days. They move on and love me just as much!

I am grateful that I am forgiven. I am grateful that I can forgive. I am grateful that we don't have to live with unforgiveness!

"For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Matthew 6:14-15

"Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, " I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times."  Matthew 18: 21-22

When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven." Luke 5:20

....Forgive and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37

Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:34

Hope everyone has a blessed day!
Lot of love...
